On the 7th of July 2002,
Lemercier officially started marketing a new
Absinthe. In the past, Lemercier was part of
the most important absinthe producer in France.
If you have the chance to go to Fougerolles,
you have to visit Alain Aureggio, in order to
taste a glass of Abisinthe and discover the
traditional production process.

I had the chance to sample another top quality
absinthe.
The Lemercier Abisinthe 72 is actually very
nice. It is almost totally clear with just
the slightest tinge of yellow. It smells very
smooth, although it's at such high alcohol
level...

The Lemercier Frères distillery is
a traditional distillery located in the important
“Absinthe city” : Fougerolles.
In summer 2002, they restarted marketing absinth
almost 100 years after its prohibition. As
we expected it from the producer, absinthe
is distilled in a natural way. The natural
colour comes from a plants maceration.
The Lemercier bottle brings a new shape on
the absinthe market, it widens from the low
part to the top and narrows at the neck.

This is a new product made in Fougerolles
by the distillery Lemercier Frères.
It is packaged in a tapered dark olive green
bottle with a plastic screw cork. Pale yellow
color appears to be natural...
